Director of Construction Services (Construction)



GPI seeks a Director of Construction Services in our NJ Operations, where you will be responsible for directing and managing all construction services, including staff recruitment and hiring, oversight of field staff and operations, project administration, business development, and participation in proposal development and fee estimates. This position plays a crucial role in our New Jersey operations. It will provide you with an excellent opportunity to lead and build upon a highly experienced and well-trained construction inspection team, which is among the largest in the state.

Responsibilities:

Conduct business development activities, including research and planning to best realize opportunities
Lead proposal development to win work, including teaming, development of proposal content, and participating in interviews and presentations
Represent GPI at client, industry meetings, and conferences
Serve as GPI's point of contact, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners
Recruit, hire, and manage construction management and inspection staff
Review of project documents and requests for proposals to establish scope, staffing needs, and fees for inspection services
Negotiate agreements and fees with clients
Manage construction inspection operations, including quality, resource allocation, and budgets
Build upon expertise across CMCI business lines
Provide support, training, career development, and employee goal setting
Offer staff the knowledge and skills to perform their current roles and adapt to evolving demands effectively
Manage sub-consultants
Review and approve monthly invoices
Assist with the development of department goals and budgets

Qualifications:

20+ years of experience working in the transportation construction inspection industry is a must
Experience with transportation (road, bridge, and rail) projects utilizing applicable client standards, procedures, and document management software
NJ Professional Engineering License is required
Resident Engineering and Project Manager experience with NJDOT and NJTA projects is required
