Flex Compliance Technician

General Information:

Title: Flex Compliance Technician           

Status: Full-time, Non-exempt                                      

Location/Site: Midland, TX (Permian Basin) and Carlsbad, NM (Delaware Basin)

Hours: Monday – Friday, occasional nights and weekends depending on company needs

Pay: Bi-Weekly

Reports to: Compliance Supervisor                                                       

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Overview:
The successful candidate is responsible for the day-to-day water and wastewater sample gathering and delivery to WaterFleet's Midland and Carlsbad in-house process control Laboratories and/or local third-party testing laboratories. This position would require a mixture of on-site field sampling and preliminary testing at remote drilling and completion sites in the Permian and Delaware Basins; preserving and maintaining samples for delivery to a local third-party laboratory for water quality analysis; maintaining accurate sample logs, using WaterFleet specific software, MS Word and/or MS Excel software; safe, efficient operation of WaterFleet vehicle for accessing the various drilling sites and local laboratories.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration within and between departments.
  • Sample control and preservation prior to testing by WaterFleet in-house laboratory and/or third-party laboratory.
  • Ability to carefully and accurately prepare and sign/date Chain of Custody Forms for delivery to in-house and/or third-party laboratory.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles to ensure long-term success and proper appearance, according to stated policy and personal pride in the equipment used.
  • Perform the required site sampling and field-testing assignments in the budgeted time and report reason(s) for any discrepancies.
  • Work effectively with and as a liaison between customers and the internal operations of WaterFleet to ensure that the customer's expectations are met.
  • Attend company and department status meetings, as requested, to understand schedules and offer progress reports on assigned jobs.
  • Fully understand and adhere to the procedures for drilling and completion site access, including all customer H&S training, proper PPE, and all required documentation.
  • Strictly follow protocol and safety precautions for effective sample gathering at drilling and completion sites.
  • Maintain integrity of samples until successful delivery to in-house and/or third-party laboratory.
  • Flexibility to work overnight in Midland, TX and/or Carlsbad, NM.

Requirements:

  • High School Grad; or GED.
  • Associate degree or above preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations in previous 3 years).
  • Acceptable background check, clear of DWI convictions, for the last 5 years.
  • Drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles are required to be 21 years of age or older - DOT Regulations.
  • Work an 8 to 10-hour/day shift which at times may include weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to travel overnight 50% - 75% of scheduled time to Midland, TX and/or Carlsbad, NM.
