School-Age Child Care Lead - Sub Position (Mill Creek) (Biotech)



Availability: Monday-Friday; must be available for shifts between 6:15 am - 9:30 am and 12:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

Location: Will vary based on need. We have care at the following schools:
Cedar Wood Elementary
Forest View Elementary
Little Cedars Elementary
Penny Creek Elementary
Silver Firs Elementary
Silver Lake Elementary
Tambark Creek Elementary
Totem Falls Elementary
Woodside Elementary

What you will do at the Y:

School-Age Care Leads teach teamwork and social skills to children in Before and After School settings as they grow and learn. The majority of responsibilities are working directly with youth, ensuring their safety, well-being and development through interactive play and other activities as directed.
They help support the onsite functions of a site with additional responsibilities related to family interactions, check in and out and site management.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Implement daily lesson and activity plans
Supervise all children and activities within program area
Regularly observes, schedules and completes evaluations for each child
Maintain communication with parents, conduct regularly scheduled parent conferences, and engage parents as volunteers
Maintain materials, equipment, and program facility
Maintain required program records
Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Minimum age 18
1-2 years' experience working with children, preferred
Meet educational and experience qualifications established by Dept of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF)

Have a high school diploma or equivalent;

Have completed twelve college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework within five years of employment

Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, fully vaccinated for MMR/other required vaccinations, and portable background check
Plan, organize, and implement high quality developmentally appropriate programming
Fluency in second language preferred
