Human Resources Generalist (Finance)



Montana Resources is looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist. This is a full-time, in-office position. We are looking for an HR professional that has the desire to create relationships across our business and support our employees and managers with the full life cycle of employment. This position will report to the V.P. of Human Resources.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, professional HR certification highly desired.
  • 3-5 years of broad-based Human Resources experience preferred.
  • A background in mining, or other heavy industry experience is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, recruitment, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  • Strong desire to understand all facets of the business we support.
  • Ability to be self-directed, team-oriented and work with minimum supervision required.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, BI, Oracle Cloud, E-1, Replicon).
  • Ability to work some hours outside of regular business hours due to our 24x7 environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing objectives.
  • Resolute in handling confidential/sensitive information.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Provide day-to-day Human Resources support for Montana Resources managers and employees.
  • Manage company benefit administration and enrollment.
  • Coordination of Family Medical Leave, Short-Term Disability and Wellness engagement.
  • Lead and participate in all company recruitment needs. Collaborate with hiring managers for ongoing needs and participate in all recruitment and selection processes.
  • System support and data entry related to all employment actions, benefit and leave services.
  • A policy coordinator of the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Policy.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Provide timely and efficient responses for all day-to-day queries from employees and managers.
  • Assures that employment actions comply with established company policy and with applicable state, federal and local regulations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local schools and universities.
    • Coordination of job fairs and other career events.
    • Schedule and participate in new hire onboarding.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
